Posted by rosalind braza (a while ago) $85 for a yearbook is too expensive. We just moved here and pricing is absurd. In these economic times, it is sad to think of all the kids who won't get one. I think you would make up in volume if you dropped the price. I haven't seen the yearbook but I will still feel the same or worse depending on the quality. I purchased a ring through a sales rep at the University I attend, I never recieved any communications from Jostens letting me know that the order had been recieved. I recieved my ring and it was the wrong ring. I called Jostens to be told to send it back, pay for the postage and the insurance. A week later, worried about a 650 dollar ring, I called to ask if they had recieved the ring and was told that they had no idea. When asked if I would recieve a e-mail when the ring was recieved, customer service (Leslie) said no, I would get a card back in the mail. I questioned this saying a quick e-mail made more sense and she got a little short relying that with the large number of returned rings, they did not have time to e-mail each one to let them know they had recieved it. At this point I was upset as well and asked if I would recieve re-imbursment for the postage and insurance for sending the ring back even when it was their fault in the first place. I was told that they would re-imburse up to ten dollars with me sending a reciept. I spent 13.85 not ten. My experience has not been good at all. I expected better. I will update this review once again, when I recieve the ring that was order to comment on the quality of the ring. After callng a lady in customer service, they were having a new one made & shipped to her to check before sending it to us. They did this THREE times! Each time the quality was poor. Now, two months later, I am still waiting after saying they have a good one & using their return label to send the first one back to them, then they would overnight the good one, except they missed shipping it yesterday & I'm still waiting on tracking info as proof they shipped it today. We will abolutely not be using Jostens for my sons' rings & am warning everyone we know & on social media about how much their quality sucks compared to 30 years ago when I ordered mine. by Susan • 8 years ago 27 out of 27 people said 'YES' 104150 Posted by Rafis (a while ago) SO STUPIDAll these idiots that are saying that the price is reasonable, use your brain a little bit. My graduation ring wasn't even the right size. For the PRICE I paid THIS RING IS NOT EVEN WORTH IT. AND even yet giving me the wrong size, if Jostens was all that good, they wouldn't miss out my SIZE when I handed in all my correct information. I am terribly disappointed with them. I thought high school was bad enough, but they have no understanding that college students can not afford graduation announcements that are over $2 (which you can only by in a min quantity of 25), cap and gown for over $100, and the other absurd prices they charge. The sales rep that came to my school said that "that's where mom and dad come in" to me when I complained about the prices and packages offered. I thought that was rude, since not every student is a spoiled princess who get mommy and daddy to pay for everything. He also lied to me, telling me that I could not buy only announcements, and that I had to buy an entire $76 package, so that I would spend more money (I'm sure he makes a commission). When I looked on the website, I found out that I could, in fact, buy only the announcements. When I said that all I needed was the announcements (since the address labels and "seal" stickers are absolutely worthless), he told me it would not look professional if I did not buy the whole package, which is a lie and a cheap way to try to hook a customer. I have never had a good experience with Jostens, and their quality is very poor. I had to return my high school ring twice because it bent after about a month of wearing it. After the second time, I gave up. The cap & gown is a waste of money and there's no reason I shouldn't be able to rent both for $10 (seriously, they would still make a killing if thousands of people payed $10 for the same set). I'm very annoyed at the quality and service I've seen with Jostens, and I would not recommend this company to anyone. I don't understand why most schools seem to use Jostens. They must give the highest kickback to the schools or something... Was this review helpful for you? +15 -1 Reply Toggle Comment Form 15 out of 16 people said 'YES' 59330 Posted by Sandy K. Their announcements were fair quality, but still overpriced. Bought a package including a gown (like we have any choice about buying a gown) then they charged us for the cap and gown when we picked it up. When I ordered my Name cards I put 50 cards in my cart, but after entering my code for prepaying for the cards it changed to 25 (the # I prepaid for); but I wanted to add 25 more for $9. Service desk could not help me. Had to place another order and pay $24 +$9.95 S&H for 25 cards (other coupon for free shipping did not work). Bought: Announcements, photo name cards, cap and gown, picture/announcement frames. Pros: Cons:

Once wonderful, now not-so-muchWe have used Josten's products for as long as I can remember. I have four generations of class rings, three of which are beautiful and well crafted. My daughter got her class ring a year ago. It has already been back to the Warranty Department twice. We were so excited when she got it, only to find that the red stone was pink, the metal work was shoddy, and even the initials were wrong! Skip ahead to graduation season. We just got her graduation announcements from Jostens (the only option), and they look like something I did on my own computer. No embossing, poor quality color and lettering. We will be looking for other options when the time comes for my son to get his class ring and graduation items. So sad to see a once regal company now look like a local start-up print shop! I had no tracking options, graduated without a ring, and there was no way to know whether the second ring they made me (first one was lost in mail) would arrive at my house. I just reviewed my sons graduation announcements and I am so very disappointed with the quality, design and extremely small font used. Even with the announcement up close, I have trouble reading the messages. The paper used is thin and not as expected for the cost. It appears very close to standard copy paper. When I unfold it, it looks like you used a 8 ½ x 11 paper printed and folded it to make the card. Further, my sons name is not even printed on the announcement. I would think that would be standard in light of their high prices. I do not see that they offer any type of satisfaction guarantee or ability to return their substandard products. These are of such bad quality, that I would be embarrassed to send these to friends and family for such an important occasion.I have seen prior announcements from previous years and they were not of this poor quality. Cost was $450.00. Sent ring back for re-sizing. Was told ring would take 4-6 weeks. When we did not receive ring back after 8 weeks we called Jostens. We were told ring was sent out on Thursday and if we did not receive ring by Monday to call. We called on Monday and were told that Josten's actually broke the ring and had to re cast it. When we inquired as to when we would receive the ring, we were told that they were in their busy season with new orders. It took an additional two months to receive the ring. I felt they should fix their mistake, not put it behind new orders. I will not go into the issues I have had with their yearbooks. The short version of the yearbook is that one of the four yearbooks i ordered last year had all the pages falling out - they were not properly glued in. It took another four months to get the replacement. After spending one hour with three different representatives on a this year's yearbook problem, all they can say is is their manta dutifully supplied by each person you speak to, "We cannot help you. I'm sorry." I will be ordering my other three class rings from Balfour and my graduation announcements from any other printing company. I will borrow grad gowns from a previous graduating senior. Myself and a few other parents are planning to speak at an upcoming school board meeting to request that they entertain the idea of using a more affordable company next year. If they change, Josten's will lose about $600K in sales for our Parish (Ascension Parish, LA). Second I ordered graduation products from you and you wrote my son's name wrong on the name cards for his announcements and return address labels. Jostens sending the announcements to the school so late and they have made a mistake puts me on pins and needles about when I will receive the corrected ones. I called early this morning had to speak to 3 different people before I could get any answers about receiving my corrected merchandise. This has been the worst customer service EVER! By the time that I got frustrated enough to call Jostens, I missed the deadline for the ad. So much for recognizing three years of academic achievements. THAT WAS THE ONLY OPTION. i asked about 20 people in my classes and they were confused about this also. the forms have WAY to much pointless info that really isn't necessary. But that is not all. i got my class ring from there, which was delivered the wrong size. My brother got one and the stone fell out the next day. also what is up with how expensive and cheep looking the yearbooks are. that is all. Jostens used to be awesome but I'm glad this is my last year with them. no more of this confusion. (6 years ago) DO NOT USE JOSTENS EVER!!!!!Hello all: I ordered my graduation ð¨ð cap and gown through JOSTENS as instructed by my school Webster University- upon placing the order I was dismayed to learn I would not be allowed to use my PO Box mailing address since they refuse to use USPS., insisting instead to use UPS as their sole shipper, for presumably the tiny 3-5% preferred customer discount they probably receive from UPS. I explained to them UPS has botched almost every delivery to this particular address and pleaded with them to either use USPS or at least UPS to US POST OFFICE delivery as an option but they stubbornly insisted they would not do that and that basically it was either their way or no way at all. Well, it’ was now about 2 or so days prior to graduation commencement abd still no cap and horn- called JOSTENS to hear UPS had supposedly delivered it two weeks before?!? Called UPS (their customer service dept is equally appalling) and heard the exact same thing- I immediately notified the this package, apparently driver-released (read: left on doorstep with no delivery receipt signature) had been (surprise * surprise) STOLEN from the front stoop of this apartment building in the middle of high-crime downtown San Antonio Texas all due to a seriously negligent UPS delivery driver who was anxious to simply check off the “delivered” box on his paperwork rather than fo the prudent thing which would have been to either call me or just leave a package-claim notice on the main front gate. Sent JOSTENS an online form submission- no response. Had to call them and UPS again simply to get a token, insincere obligatory apology and offer to refund my money but no recompense whatsoever for ruining what should have been one of the most special, memorable days of my life! Nothing whatsoever, and now I’m approaching Webster U to drop them as a sole-source provider for academic regalia, since JOSTENS won’t listeb to the moral or ethical argument, perhaps they’ll listen to the BUSINESS/MONEY side of my argument. Both companies have failed me miserably and offered only half-hearted pretend apologies but nothing to make up for ruining my special day , suggesting they’re not really at all concerned with one customer’s negative experience and as I’m reading here on this site, any other customer’s experience either. A company that forgets and ignores its own customers will eventually itself be forgotten and ignored right into failure and bankruptcy , and deservedly so. DEMAND YOUR SCHOOL RELEASE JOSTENS AS sole-source supplier and give you the freedom of choice to use anybody you want!!!The problem is that Jostens/Balfour has a near-monopoly on academic regalia and materials, so maybe use Herff Jones or Artcarved instead. -hope this helps y’all, Tom L. The lady said I would at the latest by the 5th. I was okay with this because I could overnight the few that were out of state. I still have not received the announcements. They just barely shipped them yesterday. I will not receive them until the 17th in the evening which means they will not be sent out until the 20th. Even sending them overnight will only get them to families homes the day of his graduation. This was a $170.00 purchase, and I now have to look for a local place that will hopefully be able to get them done up in one day. I will most likely be paying an extreme amount of money for them to be done. I should have know the Jostens would do this because of what they did with my class ring. I had gotten my ring from them, and they refused to replace it with their warranty. It was stolen, and they told me that they would not be able to replace it. They gave no reason. They did say I could pay $150.00 to order another one. How kind of them. If any of you plan on doing your children's graduation, don't use them. If you have to, then get your orders in at the beginning of the school year, because it'll take that long for you to get them. Bought: Announcements, photo invites Cons:

I decided to order my college ring (size 8.5, lustrious metal, aquamarine stones) March 16th and received it April 18th. The metal was correct, but the sizing felt too big and stones looked exactly like white spinel - there was no blue color at all. I contacted Jostens and spoke with D who was very good and helped me send the ring back for resizing and stone confirmation; she assured me that they would resize the ring and contact me to confirm whether the stones were in fact aqua. By late April, G from suctomer service contacted me and confirmed that the stones were aqua and that the website's images are "shot under enhanced lighting which makes them look more blue". I corrected her and told her that I had never used their website and that I was shown what aqua looked like with the display models, in person from the sales person. The stones that were apparently confirmed to be aqua by the repair plant, were nothing like the blue aqua stones that the sales person had shown me. Under G's advice I request the stones be switched to blue zircon stones instead. I told her I was moving out of the country by mid May and she assured me that they will issue and "overnight" draft back to me. I received my repaired ring may 2nd, which was resized to 8.5 and fit well on my hand, however the zircon stones looked yet-again like white spinel. I called Jostens and reached D again who recognized me, apologized and looked into my order repair. To her surprise, the ring was resized but the stones were never switched out and she confirmed that the plant's notes said aquamarine; they resized it and sent it back to me even though I followed the technical agent's specific instructions on how to write a note requesting to resize and switch stones. I sent it back for a second time, wondering if they even had any blue stones in stock to begin with. Jostens service got significantly worse from here. I watched the tracking info until the ring was received early may and did not receive a phone call. I waited a whole week and still never received a call, even though the first time I resent my ring they called me right away. I had to call them early may, and reached G again. This time G told me repairs would take 2-4 weeks, but I told her that last time Jostens gave me an overnight draft and that I was leaving the country late May. G said she would "speed up the process" and then sent me a warranty order confirmation email that explicitly said the date I would receive my ring - that was false. I trusted Jostens' email and finally called to check in mid May and spoke to B, who said that the ring was never repaired because the stones were actually blue zircon. I told B that the stones I received both the first and second time were both white spinel that did not look like the blue aqua stones that the sales person showed me in person. I also said that D confirmed the aqua stones were not replaced by zircon. I also informed her that G confirmed the repair status was 'active' not pending. (clearly throughout march / april / may none of the agents made any notes in my order) I asked her if she has a picture of the ring in front of her so she could use her own judgement to see that the white stones were neither aqua nor zircon. She did not have a picture, and told me I was wrong and that the stones were blue zircon. The next thing that happened was interesting: According to the support team in Minnesota, the plant claimed the stones were zircon and requested I switch to fire blue. It was clear that the workers at the plant in Texas resized the ring while forgetting to switch the aqua stones, and tried to cover their tracks by claiming it was zircon and trying to get me to request fire blue. This would have been beneficial to them because they would be able to claim that they switched zircon with fire blue but really they switched the original aqua. The plant workers were smart to trick their own technical support team into blaming the customer's 'pickiness' instead of admitting their own negligence. That must be why Jostens never called me back upon receiving my ring the second time. I implored B to email me a picture of the ring with the statement confirming what stones are in the ring. She agreed and confirmed my email. At this point, 2months after I ordered the too-good-to-be-true thing, and 1month of sending back and forth, I am still waiting for a picture which Jostens will probably never send. I have finished my college and do not have simple ring to show for it, moving out of the country in 1week. Why does Jostens try to make all these empty promises? It took me almost 2 months to get my cap and gown, they sure as all hell charged my card quickly though! When my order finally got here it was completely wrong! I filed a request to have the items returned and it's been over a month and a half since this elusive label was sent out and STILL NOTHING! The people who work at this company are completely useless! I had to pay $18 in shipping this morning out of pocket just to send it back and just now they are saying they are not going to refund me anything at all! I've gotten my bank involved. Seriously go to other company for your stuff. My total came to 245.43. While this charge was placed on my card, two more charges showed up after, for 1.00 each. I know this about is small, but if they are doing it to everyone, that's a lot of money. Besides that, its stealing! No matter if its 2 dollars or 2 cents, it's still fraudulent!
